Další informace naleznete na přiloženém letáku

The University of Queensland's Business School is very pleased to announce 3 full tuition fee scholarships for European students for the MBA program at UQ for 2010. The scholarships cover all tuition fees for the Full-time MBA saving European applicants approximately €28 000.

To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must meet all the entry requirements of the program as well as supplying a personal statement in support of their application and providing two references (a professional reference from a current or recent employer and a character reference). In some cases, an interview may also be necessary.

The School
UQ Business School is one of the best business schools in Australia and carries both AACSB International and EQUIS accreditation. Awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development, EQUIS accreditation is currently held by only 113 business schools worldwide. UQ Business School was the first Australian business school to win both prestigious accreditations and was recently ranked in Australia’s top five by the Economist Intelligence Unit (Which MBA?).

Opportunities
While you undertake your MBA with us, take advantage of all the opportunities the School has to offer. Enterprize, the School’s AUD100 000 business plan competition, is open to anyone with a great business idea. BSPA (Business School Postgraduate Association) is a student-run organisation organising events, competitions, and professional development, while the The School’s Alumni Association is the perfect vehicle for you to network with alumni while you are a student here in Brisbane, and with UQ alumni in Chapters around the world. With more than thirty sporting clubs, olympic-quality training facilities, five museums, and numerous cultural groups on campus, your student experience will be as dynamic as you are.

The UQ Business School MBA
Launched in 2008, the UQ Business School Full-time MBA has four distinct benefits when compared to other MBA programs worldwide:

  Measurable leadership development
  Emphasis on network-building
  Accelerated learning
  Location.

Business education has had a long history at The University of Queensland, with a faculty formed in 1925, and in 1972, offering the first Master of Business Administration program in Queensland (one of the earliest MBA offerings in Australia).

Measureable leadership development
All MBA programs claim to develop your leadership skills. UQ Business School can provide evidence of skills development using our unique Leadership Capability Framework.

The Leadership Capability Framework measures students’ skill level across seven key leadership dimensions when they enter the program and again when they are about to graduate.

Graduates have ongoing access to the Leadership Capability Framework so they can review their progress at any time throughout their career.

UQ Business School’s unique Leadership Capability Framework examines seven key leadership dimensions:

  Knowledge
  Leading with purpose
  Complex decision-making
  Strategic Thinking
  Managing for Results
  Teamwork
  Emotional Intelligence.

Network-building
The program – partly inspired by the Harvard MBA – is structured to keep students together in the same classes for the duration of the program. In this way students really get to know their peers and can build the relationships and networks that are an important reason for doing the MBA.

The unique Leadership Enhancement Program – a series of events and experiences that complements the formal academic program – provides additional networking opportunities.

Accelerated learning
The UQ Business School MBA is designed to develop leaders – rather than operational or functional managers. By stepping away from the traditional academic year and adopting an intensive teaching model we have made it possible for students to complete the Full-time MBA in one calendar year.

Courses are taught in a particular order and with structured content so that each class builds on the knowledge and skills developed in previous classes.

Location
UQ Business School is ideally located at St Lucia on the banks of the Brisbane River just minutes from the centre of Brisbane – often described as Australia’s most liveable city.

UQ Business School Downtown is an award winning teaching and education facility in the heart of Brisbane’s business community. The School’s Corporate Education arm is based here, while many of the School’s alumni events, business networking, and parts of the Leadership Enhancement Program are hosted at this prestigious venue.

The capital city of Queensland, Brisbane has a multicultural population of approximately 1.8 million inhabitants.

With its sub-tropical climate, proximity to attractions including the Gold Coast, the Outback, and the Great Barrier Reef, and its rich and diverse cultural scene, Brisbane is the ideal place to enjoy your Australian experience.

UQ Business School offers quality teaching
UQ Business School staff are among the most highly qualified in the world and most have extensive research and consulting experience. We believe that effective teaching is only possible when academic staff are also engaged in both research and consulting. We value consulting so highly we have established our own professional consulting arm, UQ Business School Commercial, and explicitly allow one day per week for consulting activities by our senior academics.

Research that addresses contemporary business issues and challenges makes our academics sought-after consultants. Both activities then inform teaching – ensuring students have access to the latest new knowledge as well as tried and tested theory and practice.

Among our outstanding academic staff are teaching award winners, sought-after consultants, and high profile researchers.

Award winning teaching
In 2009, Associate Professor Julie Walker was recognised as Australia’s Lecturer of the Year in a survey of 61,000 university staff and students. Approximately 2,500 lecturers were nominated for the award.

In 2008, Dr John Steen earned a citation from the Australian Learning and Teaching Council – a national body established to recognise, reward, and support outstanding teaching in Australia.

Our teaching staff are leaders in the field of innovation, with Professor Mark Dodgson awarded the prestigious ATSE Clunies Ross Eureka Prize for Leadership in Business Innovation in 2007.

Dr Neil Paulsen was recognised as the Pearson Education ANZAM Management Educator of the Year in 2006.

UQ Business School staff have also won two prestigious Australian University Teaching Awards.
