Charakteristika
TAFE (Technical and Further Education) je státní vyšší odborná škola, kde pokračují ve studiu absolventi High School (střední školy) a připravují se zde na budoucí povolání. Úspěšní absolventi mají také možnost po skončení studia pokračovat studiem vybraného oboru na univerzitě. V tom případě nezačínají studium od prvního ročníku, ale bývají přijati zhruba do 2. ročníku. V odborných kurzech převažují domácí, australští studenti, ale nemalé procento tvoří i zahraniční studenti. Čeští a slovenští zájemci o studium na TAFE by měli mít ukončené středoškolské vzdělání. Zahraničním studentům škola kromě studia odborných kurzu nabízí jazykovou přípravu. Kromě vybraných kurzů uvedených v tabulce nabízí TAFE mnoho dalších odborných oborů od technických až po umělecké. TAFE jako státní instituce nabízí silné zázemí, bohaté vybavení a velmi širokou nabídku odborných kurzů, kde studují společně australští a zahraniční studenti. Budete-li hledat specificky zaměřený odborný kurz, který nenaleznete v nabídce soukromých škol, určitě jej objevíte v nabídce některého z TAFE institutů.
Naše hodnocení
Na této instituci studuje minimum českých studentů a jejich zkušenost jsou velmi pozitivní. V odborných kurzech výuka probíhá asi 20 h týdně.
